You got to feel sorry for Tony McKellar at Newquay and u couldnt blame him if he walks away from the Newquay managers job before long after yet another hammering by Plymouth Argyle reserves today and this wasnt the same sort of team that played St Austell a couple of weeks ago when there was 8 full time 1st team players in the team this was a young team with the exception of 1st team professional Lous Rooney who scored twice today .I feel sorry for the young Newquay team and cant see results getting any better Newquay need someone more experianced in charge with some older players there or Newquay will struggle all season maybe Alan Carey who has left St Blazey could come back but i think ex Godolphin manager Derek Martyn should be the manager

Hi Steve, Macca wasn't there today due to work commitments. Argyle actually had four full time pros playing and were obviously an excellent team. Of course Newquays very young team were outplayed for much of the game but had some good spells of their own. They only had two substitutes and both forwards had heavy knocks and had to go off injured early which disrupted the formation for the other boys a bit in the 22' heat on a big pitch against a team that uses every inch of it. Its a big learning curve for all those youngsters playing against a beast like Ijaha running the show today but they've got to start somewhere and credit to Macca for giving them a platform. It's not all about throwing big money in and trying to win leagues. Clubs have to rebuild again sometimes and personally think it's always great to see youngsters given a go. 19 year Dan Peters had a fantastic game in goal today. Can't buy that experience.

Newquay have a very young team and they will be learning with every game they play. There will be some ups and downs but I admire what Tony and Midds are trying to do. They're getting the youngsters playing the right way and I can only see them improving. Two lads upfront are lively and the widemen we played were also talented. They have had to start again and I hope Tony sticks with it.

Hi Rappo it must be so dispondent for the Newquay lads when they are getting beaten by such high scores each week it must upset you being a ex Newquay player what im saying they need someone there more experianced or else Newquay will not be in this league next season i didnt know the full Argyle line up but i saw Louis Rooney was playing and hes 1st team sometimes .Hope Newquay do get better

Congratulations to all the SWPL sides that progressed in the FA Vase yesterday, some big scores in the league fixtures, we smashed Falmouth for 6 & to be honest it might & should of been 10. Felt for them yesterday in the heat chasing shadows, they have however had a good start to the season. Suprise result with Launceston getting the points at Godolphin, great result for them. Poor Newquay, a very long season ahead for them, along with St.Blazey, who carried on where they left off under Alan Carey, getting beat heavily again, both sides not even competing judging by their scorelines each week, Fear for both clubs

Probably got other commitments. So I can't see that happening. Maybe the Bodmin manager D.G. fancies a real challenge. Even winning gets boring sometimes. ?

Maybe not if they win the league and take promotion.

Can't see that happening if they didn't bother going up last season.

That was a bit of a shock, Dobwalls play well or Penryn under par?

To be fair Dobwalls played well but so did Penryn. Like a lot of clubs at the beginning of the season we have had players unavailable but now things are settling down. We had a good day on Saturday but no doubt there will be good and bad over a season buts lets hope most days are good

Admire what clubs like Camelford and Newquay are trying to do. Ok it might be a struggle at the moment but these talented young players will only get better and a seasons experience at Premier league level will be invaluable to them. Reg knows local football inside out with years of experience and Tony was a sought after young manager who could have chosen other clubs. No need to panic, I'm sure both of them are looking at the long term and would expect a few pastings along the way and if someone like Glynn can pick 8 players from those two clubs for this seasons county youth squad then they ain't doing a bad job!?! Don't think you need to "fear" for any club Terry. Blazey and Newquay both have bigger histories than Bodmin and will come again in the future no doubt. Remember Bodmin being the whipping boys at the bottom of the league many moons ago and losing 12-1 at home and now you're the top club in the county winning trebles! Every club have different agendas. Bodmin, St.Austell, Parkway, Tavistock etc want to win the league and are throwing big money in to do it. The likes of Saltash, Godolphin, Falmouth would probably consider top 5 a success. For Newquay, Blazey and Camelford it's probably staying out the bottom two and producing good young talent on limited budgets. Three Bodmin players would probably cover Camelfords or Newquays whole team budget wise. No one is right or wrong, but judge at the end of the season and see where these teams are then?
