Jeff's Telling
Callington Town 3-1 Newquay Ben Langton fired Callington ahead from inside the penalty area on 37 minutes, after the home time had created a number of half chances. Newquay did have one chance before this when a player broke through the home defence, but volleyed well wide. 1-0 at half time, but soon after the restart Ian Rooke flicked in the second for Town who then went hunting for more goals. An outstanding goal on 75 minutes from Nicholas Kuevi for Town who turned two defenders on the edge of the area before lashing home an unstoppable left foot shot into the far corner. In the last 10 minutes Newquay did threaten the home goal, forcing Sam Borthwick to his first real serious save, and shortly afterwards Newquay did notch what was a very late consolation. A deserved win for a hard working Town side, tbh Newquay offered little up front
