leedsunited Posted December 4, 2016 Report Share Posted December 4, 2016 Nipped in the Trewoon Social earlier, for their fine dinning sunday roast (even come with a Christmas cracker) & we got talking about Wadebridge Town, then somebody showed me the big debate that has appeared on twitter regarding Glyn Hoopers comments on their defeat yesterday to Camelford & asking what is actually going on there, & why are their results are so bad?? Fair question? Poor Glynnie then had a tirade of abuse thrown at him on twitter, Im amazed that 'Batman' (Phillip Lafferty) did not get involved to help his 'Robin' (Hoops!) & it was the Rickard boys that had to try & intervene to seek peace. The way Glyn was spoken to on twitter for merely asking a question was terrible. All once successful clubs, but look at them all now! The decline of these clubs has not been overnight, but steady. Bobjfh Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 Guys - this thread was about Twitter abuse of Glynn by ONE Wadebridge player following a fair question as to why Wadebridge have declined. The comments were by one player who was clearly drunk and not by the whole team / club. He actually claimed his phone had been 'stolen' when the comments were made (I am assuming by way of an apology). Wadebridge have declined, and whilst paying decent money are not improving this season - but there are some decent lads there who do not deserve berating because of the stupidity of one player. There's only 1/2 players there, on any significant amount of money, the rest are just of the normal quality, expected of a player in that league. They played Saturday - Tuesday for the first few weeks of the season, which doesn't help when your team has been scrambled together in the space of two months. Results improved, and now are inconsistent, like most in the division. They have beaten Helston & Elburton this season......
