SWPL last team standing: FA Vase Round 4

Recommended Posts

Sadly both Bodmin and Torpoint bid their respective goodbyes to this seasons FA Vase last Saturday. A sad loss to quality open football.

However there is still a SWPL side in the 4th Round and whilst they're not a Cornwall club we will all doubtless wish them well in carrying the flag, step up Exmouth Town.

The 32 balls in the bag have given Exmouth a crucial home draw.

They will face up against Corinthians, a side who ply their trade in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division, they're based at Fawkham, near Dartford in Kent. They face a 400 mile round trip. There are already Kent based media rumblings regarding what an unkind draw it has been for them. I hope they enjoy it to the full.

I wish Exmouth the very best of luck and hope they do the SWPL proud.

And Porthleven's trip to Marske on the same day. Clubs always moan about "a long trip to the south west" but forget that our clubs have a long way to go for almost every game. For Cornish clubs, it's the norm!
