Witnessed a gripping encounter over at Tavistock.

There are some terribly glum St Austell folk this evening.

10 man Tavistock took all the points with a 2-0 win that could prove crucial come the end of the season.

First half Tavistock were woeful as St Austell cut them to threads and produced a sack full of chances.

The home side must have got a half-time rocket as they came out a totally different side for the second half.

Glyn Hobbs had been sadly out of touch earlier on but now seemed like a man possessed. Time and time again he tore open the visitors defence almost single handed. St Austell were rocking and within minutes they were 2 goals down. You can imagine the reaction? Especially as the first goal was a hotly disputed penalty for hand ball. Never seen so much swearing and tantrums. Goodness knows how the referee managed to deal with it all.

Not long afterwards Tavistock went down to 10 men when Tyler Elliott mistimed a tackle on Mark Goldsworthy. Straight red.

From there onwards Tavistock had to rely on the odd counter attack as the visitors piled forwards. It was edge of the seat stuff right up to the final whistle.

Tavistock will be well pleased with this victory especially after playing so badly in the first half. St Austell must be gutted to create so much pressure and have so many attempts on goal only to end up with nothing. Even worse when you consider they played against 10 men for such a long period.

Great entertainment for the neutral, I thoroughly enjoyed it.... well done Tavistock.
