BAGMAN
Hearing on the grapevine that Tiverton Reserves will not be in the CSWPL Premier next year due to 'finance issues'? How will this affect the promotion/relegation numbers? Discuss.
TimmyRaa
II would imagine that only 1 will go down. I think that's what happened when Elmore pulled out the other year. All to play for at Newquay and at st blazey
John Mead
And if Exmouth are promoted to Western Legue Premier, both Newquay and St. Blazey could avoid the drop. However, nothing is yet cast in stone and only time will tell if there's any substance in the rumour!
leedsunited
Would be a great shame as the set up at Tiverton is great, also thought they were a very good side & having a 'reserve' side functioning in the SWPL Premier can only help their first team as when players are asked to step up or returning from injury they know the SWPL is a reasonable standard to use this for. Also, no matter how great a history Newquay & St.Blazey have it would be a travesty to stay up on default, as they are just not good enough, the bottom two are nowhere near up to the required standard, the table reflects this. I certainly have been very impressed with Tiverton this season
Bobjfh
There have been rumours about the playing budget at Tiverton for their Reserve team - especially as they effectively bought a new team after promotion to the Prem - if true then you would have to question their sustainability. It would be real shame though if they folded - perhaps cut the budget and let the team find a level more suitable to their budget (East?) - with their new manager If they do fold, surely the league rules are fairly clear - only one relegation, which would / should be St Blazey. Exmouth nor Parkway will finish top 3 so there will be no promotions out of the Prem. It would also really muck up Promotion from the East / West - Sticker have secured a spot for promotion but in the East it's not clear yet and could result in Sticker v A N Other play off to secure promotion?? baldy
No it would not muck up promotion from E/W. The prem would still need two teams to fill the gaps left by Tiverton & the relegated club!
shots
Whoever finishes higher out of the clubs who have applied to go up should be allowed to do so. If they are not good enough they will soon come back down. This would remove the blockers from the equation. The SWPL have a poor record of providing upward movement in the pyramid system. It shouldn't be beyond SWPL and the FA to sort things out if they really wanted to.

John Mead
So if either St Blazey or Newquay were the only team to apply for Western League Premier this season, they should be promoted?!?
John Mead
I think the costs of the required facility improvements, extra travel and sustaining a competitive squad to play at Step 5 would not be a viable proposition for the majority of Clubs - particularly those in Cornwall. The SWPL and the FA are obviously aware of this as well as our unique geographic position.
