And deservedly so, very very poor performance, missed GW on the touchline. It's been coming For a few games now, onwards and upwards Cup final May 10th.

Went along to Lux Park for Liskeards 2-0 win over Wendron.

Always liked this ground. Came here years ago when I lived up on the Pennine Hills (long way for a night match, mind you, they were playing Bodmin).

Friendly tea room again, friendly people all round.

70p for a tea in a mug, 40p for crisps, stacks of pasties in the warmer.

Liskeard created over a dozen scoring chances in the first 30 minutes, looked mighty impressive, went 1-0 up and the game died.

Wendron got back into it second half but lacked the killer finish.

2-0 was a fair result. Think Liskeard deserve to be a little higher up the table but they've still got some games in hand.

Was tempted to travel to Bodmin initially for the Match Of The Day v the Argyle lads. Decided against it (once again) because of the insane roadworks on the A38 and the bonkers redevelopment work in the town centre. The muppets who sanctioned these crazy job creation schemes should have been taken to task at the planning stage. They'd have been sacked in other parts of the country. What a waste of money, criminal. What will they dream up next?

Goals from Dan Richards x2 and Steve Abbott-Smith!!!

Illogan just wanted it more and worked harder than penzance on the day!

Illogan were excellent today, big problems down west though. Total lack of effort let their manager and benefactor down!

Tavistock v Helston..

Helston began the match pressing high and playing with a strong wind behind them, made it hard for Tavistock to break them down. Tavistock were wasteful in front of goal, with both Crago and Hobbs missing chances that on another day would have seen them convert them. The beak through came on the half hour mark, with Hobbs completed a nice turn in the box to score..

Tavistock scored early in the second and then the flood gates opened. What didn't help Helston was they had travelled to Tavistock with the bare eleven...

However,  take nothing away from Tavistock,  this was another impressive display from a team at the top of the league...

Helston conceding 10 goals today...who did they have in goal 'Sid' Naylor!?' Dreadful result. Ivybridge getting a cracking result & clean sheet at Falmouth. Saltash winning keeps pressure at the top, Newquay having another 7 put on them again today to go with the 7 midweek against St.Austell & the 8 Bodmin put on them 14 days ago...dear or dear

Exmouth 4 v 2 Camelford

Today Camelford had to cope with 6 starting players missing through college trips to Dallas, holidays and Darts finals in Ireland. Add on to that a trailer full of cows being upturned on the M5 and serious accident on the A30 meaning a delay in kick off to 4.30pm (ref didn't arrive from Plymouth until 4.10) - at 4.20 Camelford had 8 players and 3 turned up to walk straight onto the pitch - to join their makeshift squad, including a 49yo physio starting and a 50 yo keeper as the bench......... and all this against an Exmouth team who beat Bodmin mid week - same Exmouth squad as apparently they couldn't rest players due to a stag weekend.. Things didn't look good for Camelford.

First half saw honours fairly shared between an Exmouth team who did more attacking, but in fairness little to no cutting edge and a Camelford team who were set to defend and counter. Exmouth broke the deadline with a lovely finish, but in hindsight Camelford had several chance to stop the no.11 cutting inside and shooting. Shortly afterwards Camelfords left back Tom Cowling was unceremoniously dumped to the floor in the penalty area to secure a penalty, finished comfortably by Mark Gusterson - Camelford then missed a great chance to take the lead but all square 1-1 at HT.

Start of the second half saw Camelford take the iniative, against an Exmouth team who looked completely at odds and when not arguing with officials were arguing amongst themselves (officials had a okay game, but ref must learn that you can only tell a player once that it is his 'last chance' for dissent - to several Exmouth players!!!!!). Camelfords, young winger and County youth star Joe Adkins was again dumped on the floor, loosing both contact lenses - however was passed the ball whilst his replacements were being sought - he then beat the whole Exmouth back 4 and keeper to score his best goal of the season - Camelford up 2-1 with 17 minutes left of normal time - Exmouth were not a happy squad, however introduced an additional striker who made a difference. With 13 minutes to go, following a goalmouth scramble Exmouth scored through a wicked defection. However Camelford came straight back into the game with a maizey run by the CB George H and a lovely ball to Joe Adkins putting him one v one against the Exmouth keeper again - this time the keeper getting a last ditch foot to the ball to save the day for Exmouth.

Camelford players were visibly dead on their feet, with no substitutes, but continued to hold out until the 89th and 91st minute when Exmouth struck twice to make the score line look VERY flattering to them. No complaints from Camelford, with the 'difficulties' of the day I am sure they would have taken the score before the start - but Exmouth must consider themselves very lucky to still be in the mix at the top.

Good entertaining game and if you want to see team spirit and heart, you could do worse than watch Camelford.

Good luck to Exmouth with their promotion aspirations.

Danny O, surprised you bother reading Leeds comments about Newquay anymore (everyone knows it hasn't been the greatest of seasons but most accept why). With Tiverton formally pulling out, so only one to drop a win next Friday for you against an underperforming Godolphin will see you safe for next season - good preseason and go again next season.

Also heard a rumour yesterday (and no more than that) that Exmouth were looking at trying to take Gillingham Towns place in the Western Prem as they are pulling out and dropping into the Dorset Prem for financial reasons? Not sure of the truth or feasibility of that, but could offer a lifeline to St Blazey if Exmouth don't get top 3 in any case..

Not offence intended towards you Danny son, they were probably lucky to have you there or else it might of been 200 goals conceded instead of 152 goals shipped. You had couple Ok games against us Danny, your  organisation was key to it not being more goals we scored, you should be looking at Management soon.....specially at your age old timer! Must be extremely frustrating season for you after your achievements at Bodmin & the wonders you contributed to keeping St.Blazey up last season, what was the difference between both your St.Blazey side of last season & Newquay side this season?

That's easy to answer....a bigger squad and more experience in the team of playing in the premier league...we hardly had to change the team at Blazey last year which is a big help....Just haven't got the players or the experience at Newquay but you can't fault the lads efforts but will def be some new faces at the club next season if we stay up!! Bring on Fridays game!! ?⚽️

I'm sure keeping Newquay up this season would be another achievement, a team sourced with young local lads not interested in playing for money and of which is there first season of premier league football for most. The problem this season has been a lack of consistency of team selection each week due to players working late, injuries and suspensions, Newquay have already shown with a full team they can cause upsets against higher standing teams. A senior cup semi final and staying in the league is a very respectable season for this side with youngsters gaining valuable experience as well as rebukikding the squad with locally sourced players. Firmly believe this season will put the club in a more steady state for the future compared to when they throwing big money at players from far and wide.

Parkway struggle again, anyone else think Lee hobbs will be under a lot of pressure soon, he hasn't had the best start to his tenure

Not sure what you expect with the current squad he has ? Without a powerful strike force , you will always be a little off the pace 7n the league.

Fat fingers lol . "Off the pace in this league"

Totally agree about building a locally sourced squad, just one thing though, Newquay have still been paying a 'reasonable' amount this season so have to be careful not to overspend next season.

Only kept up on default. Any other season they would of been gone weeks ago. However completely agree that this season will be a great learning curve for the youngsters, with the luck of not being relegated. At present they are not quite there, the table shows that they are not there, 150 odd goals conceded, but playing youngsters can only be a good thing IF they can reach the required standard. I think they might just get a win over Godolphin on Friday, they have lost 8 in a row & G might do their neighbours a favour to confirm their league status

A top manager should be able to do better than he had in my opinion, not expecting miracles but feel with the way things have gone so far he will have to get off to a flyer else with the budget he will be using next year he will be soon out the door

I haven't seen a game Lee Hobbs has been in charge of since he left Bodmin, but. If he is anything like he was in there i personally doubt he has much 2 offer as a manager. Continually shouting, waving his arms around and nothing constructive coming out of his mouth. It was an embarrassment 2 sit behind him in the stand. On more than one occasion i and others moved 2 get away from the noise. The main observation was none of the players took a bit of notice of his instructions anyway. Perhaps a parkway supporter can give me their views

I'm a bit out of the loop as I no longer live in the area and watch Parkway but, based on what The Bald One tells me, they have gone from one side of the managerial spectrum to other when replacing the Hendy/Stewart pairing with Lee Hobbs. He reckons Lee's style was needed to try and give a bit more energy and dynamism to , what is on paper, a pretty strong squad. I am sure that Lee will use the remainder of this season to have a good look at what he has currently, and will no doubt bring in more of his own players next season, only then can he judged. I 'm sure that Lee knows the ambitions of the club and the chairman, and that he will be expected to deliver.
