Bragging rights maybe?

Bragging rights?

Argyle are a League One side, Parkway a SWPL. Makes me laugh some people on here actually think people at Argyle are ultimately that worried where they finish in the SWPL.

The team is in the league to develop their young players and give some of their pro's game time. Granted, the league is pretty competitive at the top and the will to win should be a factor for professionals and aspiring professionals, but to actually make beating Parkway a priority and make their top pro's available at the potential expense of affecting an upcoming first team game? Absolutely no chance whatsoever.

Maybe Argyle would prefer Parkway to fail to achieve promotion. Their ambition to progress through the leagues seems well documented. It could have a negative effect on gates at Home Park eventually? But in essence I agree with your sentiment HB.

In contrast I can see Argyle relishing the competition within the city. As far as support goes - there's many a Cornish based Argyle supporter who would never change their allegiance from Home Park.

Perhaps you know why they are the only English football club that play at this level, all other clubs with reserve sides play in separate competitions for the reserves. Maybe because its unfair on local teams that may have built up a competitive league. Argyle fans kicked up re the inclusion of premier clubs under 21 sides in the league cup, as they had players with premier experience and had an unfair advantage over lower clubs   -   no difference to those that disagree with Argyle in this league.

Clubs in this league just have to ignore the Argyle results, as its not a level playing field and not to draw conclusions from those results as to the status of the winners or losers.

Prove what point?

Who the biggest team in the city is? After the friendly some Argyle fans have started to attend Parkway games more frequently, even though they got promoted themselves. Is it no surprise that Argyle flooded their team against Exmouth, another side looking for promotion? As mentioned above, Argyle fans have kicked up a stink about Premier League and Championship sides have their academy sides in the EFL trophy, yet are more than happy to see their team in this league. Double standards?

Another way to look at it us against the likes of Parkway, the Argyle players will get a good run out against half decent opposition

Ha ha , Would be nice , but I can not see that happening . Torpoint usually raise their game when they play Parkway.

Watched them when we beat them at Mount Wise and to be honest the score line flattered them. They got battered the following week by Falmouth.

Parkway have too much quality this year to not win the game comfortably.

If Plymouth Parkway has intentions of taking promotion I dont think any club will care about the budget-It would be good for the SWPL and THE FA  to see some movement.

It is becoming stale and static-a bit like the old  SWL

Who would have thought Bodmin would be  19 points adrift of the league leaders after four weeks of the season?

I remember in this fixture last season someone from the dugout area keep calling out ............ "what a waste of money" . I was told in the bar afterwards ,it was a committee member lol . Lets hope he keeps quiet tonight. :SM_carton:

Where is The Windmill On The Shirt this morning I wonder…. No pics on Facebook either of what he’s had for breakfast….after that drumming last night a large portion of Humble Pie should do the trick
