Ian Pethick
Exmouth Town are dark horses for the league in my opinion. Solid defence, home ground is a real fortress and manager who has a lot of experience of higher levels. (Sorry, forgot that Mockey Jackson doesn't like Parkway supporters talking about other clubs). Martin Cook
Bitton 0 Town 1 A great day out with a trip up the M5 car park. Town took the lead through a great finish by Ace High after 25 mins. A really even first half with town slightly edging it. In the second half Bitton had a lad sent off for an off the ball incident which only the linesman saw. Town had a nervous ten minutes at the end with a fantastic save from Chris Wright the town keeper. Town deserved this hard fought victory . The Att was 92 with approx 30 from Town. The bar was fun after, nice club. Looking forward to Parkway on Wednesday. GRTourist and Bobjfh

Martin Cook
Parkway 1 Town 0 A Great game which Parkway settled into nicely in the first half. Town grew into the game and played well but gave the ball away a little to often . The goal came when Town were looking for a free kick which wasn`t given and switched off. This gave Adam Carter the room to finish smartly . The second half was open and Town gave as much as that Parkway did. Town came close about 20 mins from time when Harris had a powerful drive tipped over by the keeper. Parkway were hanging on towards the end but probably just edged it, if you were a neutral (Which Im not) Towns first League defeat of 2019 (The last was boxing day at home to Cully) ATT 305 which around 50 were from Town . Martin Cook
Yate 2 Town 2 So we start the day with our coach driver getting lost enroute and arriving at the ground at 2.25 (We left at 11.20) So a delayed kick off in searing heat at 3.05. Town were out of the traps first and looked good against a team two leagues higher. Denny scored a deflected goal after about 20 mins. This woke the home side up. They played some great football on the bowling green surface of a pitch. It was no surprise when they pulled level after about 40 min. The second half was more of the same with Yate passing the ball around well and Town defending for there lives UNTIL Yates keeper forgot why he was in goal (You know what I mean) and tried to dribble the ball past Jordan Harris, who promptly took the ball off him and finished from a tight angle. Yate were affected by this and Town pressed but couldn`t get the third. Yate did pull level after 80 min and Town did have to battle to get the draw. The boys were clearly knackered at the end of a tough week. A great effort this week with a win at Bitton a tough game at Parkway Wednesday and Yate yesterday. Martin Cook
Exmouth Town 3 Brislington 2 This was an entertaining Vase game which Town could have put too bed early. Town took the lead after about 20 min when A Jordan Harris shot cannoned in via a defender and the keepers face!!!! Brislington took advantage of Town switching off, the forwards was in acres of space to nod home. Callum Shipton restored the lead after 40 min from a tight angle. HT 2-1 In the second half Brislington started brightly, but didnt really threaten and when Jordan Harris scored the third, you would have thought that was it. Brislington pulled a goal back in the 86th Minute but didn`t come close to getting the tie level. Fair play to the Brislington boys they stayed until 7pm in the clubhouse having a few beers . Martin Cook
Exmouth Town 2 Yate 0 Well what a game . Yate are a decent side ,but are used to playing on a billard table pitch. Credit though to both teams this was a proper Cup tie. End to End , plenty of chances and saves. Yate hit the bar and Harris had a one on one saved in the first half . HT 0-0 Second half Town went for it , Ben Steer got on the end of a cross which the keeper fumbled under pressure then Arron Denny finished of a great run From Ace High. Town then defended for there lives and kept hitting Yate on the break. Town hit the woodwork twice in the last ten minutes. A Great 2-0 win. Two coaches booked for Saturdays trip to Highworth Town. Martin Cook
Highworth Town 4 Exmouth Town 2 So not the result we wanted here, but a great run. Highworth were better team in the first half taking a lead after 4 min and getting the second after 25mins. Town were off the pace in the first half but had a couple of chances. The second half was a different game ,Town on the front foot getting forward down the slope. Highworth had a player sent off and Jordan Harris pulled a goal back . Town at this point were all over Highworth plenty of shots, headers, saves and then Dave Rowe crashed a shot against the bar . It just wasnt to be . Town were then hit on the break twice going 4-1 down. Then minutes from the end Town lost Harris sent off for a challenge. (Gutted 3 match ban) Then Aarron Denny smashed in a fantastic long range effort to pull it back to 4-2 on Full Time. It was a great day apart from the result . We ran two coaches and had approx 80 supporters in a crowd of 191 . Next up Cadbury Heath away in the Vase. Martin Cook
Cadbury Heath 1 Exmouth Town 5 ( FA Vase) So our 4th Saturday away day on the trot. Town were out of the traps quickly dominating this game. Towns Karl Rickard hit two first half pens to give Town a 2-0 lead at ht. Again after the break. Town were on the front foot with Ace High getting on the end of a knock down from Rickard to make it 3-0. Cadbury Heath pulled a goal back from a shot from the edge of the box. Town immediately went 4-1 up after a great run and finish from Ben Steer. Ace High finished things off late on making it 5-1. A Good day and trip. Found a great pub just around the corner from the ground, the King William, as the clubhouse / lock up wasnt open when we got there at 1.30. Stayed at the Clubhouse / Lock up until 6PM after the game. Nice people running the club. Att 83 inc approx 25 town

The second half was a wet and horrible half, Cadbury Heath raised there game ,but Town put the game to bed 15 min from the end with a neat finish from Jordan Harris. Martin Cook
Wellington 0 Exmouth Town 2 A Sunday game as a part of the groundhopper day. Town were slow off the mark with Wellington looking better than there League position would suggest . A fantastic ball from Denny put Jordan Harris through with a defender and the keeper to beat ,which he duly did in the 20th min. Late in the half another great ball from Ace High and a neat finish from Denny gave town a two goal lead at HT. The second half was very similar to the first with Town having most of the play until Wellington were reduced to 10 men on about 60 min. This actually spurred Wellington on and it was a much closer game. Town hit the post and bar and Chris Wright made a couple of decent saves. Needless to say it was going to be heavy. Town should have taken the lead after 2 mins when Denny hit a one on one at the keeper. After 8 minutes Callum Shipton was handily placed to pass the ball into the net from close range. Town doubled there lead 20 mins later when Karl Rickard had a deflected shot rifle past the keeper. Portland had a player sin binned for 10 at this point HT 2-0 Portland were better in the second half with Town defending for long periods catching Portland on the break a few times but not putting them to bed. In defense Kieron Wildig made one fantasic block on the line and Chrissy Wright made a couple of decent saves. FT Town 2-0 att 211 with around 40 from Portland. Martin Cook
Exmouth Town 5 Street 0 A really entertaining game which ended up with A one sided final score. Street were a decent young team, who played some great football. They were unfortunate to lose two lads carried off injured in the first half. Street started the game strong but Town took the lead after a fantastic finish from Callam Shipton. Karl Rickard added a second fifteen minutes later. Jordan Harris then put Town 3 up ten minutes before half time . Street came out strong in the second half and had plenty of the ball without threatening Chris Wrights goal. Jordan Harris and Aarron Denny both added the scoresheet with a couple of great Team goals. Town could have scored two or three more ,but for the Street keeper who made a string of saves. This could have been 8 or 9. A Funny game ,this Street team were not that bad honest. Att 161 with about 15 from Street. Next up Keynsham away Saturday . Martin Cook
Exmouth Town 4 Tavistock 2 This was a horrible evening ,players and supporters had problems getting to Exmouth for the 7.30pm kick off due to an accident on the A38 and it started to rain around 4pm and carried on all night! That said it was a great game,Town were dominant for most of the first half but went behind in the 45th Minute when a great hard and low cross was turned in by a Town defender for an OG. HT 0-1 The second half started with a bang when Ace High got on the end of a great cross to equal the scores. Tavistock then bounced back into the lead when awarded a Penalty which was easily converted. To be honest at this point I thought Tavistock would raise there game but no, Town absolutely brushed Tavvy aside with 3 goals in 10 minutes, Callam Shipton was given the freedom of Southern Road when he headed in from 6 yard and then Ace High scored his second. Jordan Harris hit the fourth from a direct free kick from 25 yards . A Great result for Town ,not sure Tavvys boss will be happy with their performance. Martin Cook
Exmouth Town 2 Shepton Mallet 1 It was a very Cold and windy day ,but hey a dry day meaning Towns 5th Home League game of the season. It started with both teams passing the ball around but Town slightly on top. It was around the fifteen minute mark when Towns faithful were stunned, after Jordan Harris was in the right place to bundle the ball into the net from close range. The ref awarded the goal the linesman didnt raise his flag ,but the Mallet defenders complained so much that the ref went to the linesman and they promptly chalked the goal off ,to everyones dismay. Five minutes later Callum Shipton somehow missed from 6 yards out blazing the ball out of the ground. Eventually a long range free kick from Harris was parried by the Mallet keeper into the path of Ben Steer 1-0 Town. The second half was more of the same ,very tight until a run from Arron Denny and decent cross was well finished by Harris,2-0 Town . Mallets Keeper made a couple of decent saves but Town were a little nervy when Mallet scored from a header from a corner 2-1 Town it finished. Mallet are probably the best team we have had at Southern Road in the league this season. Attendance was a decent 171 considering the cold weather including around 8 away supporters and 20 ish ECFC supporters taking advantage of a ticket promotion Next up Parkway in the Les Phillips Wednesday UTT
Martin Cook
Exmouth Town 0 Hallen 0 A really tough game Hallen are a very well organised team who set up to frustrate , Town had a few chances but it was a tight game and not really a classic. Robbie Powell the town keeper was voted man of the match for a couple of good saves, but Town could have snatched right at the end when Jordan Harris hit the post in the last minute. It will be interesting to see where they end up in the League this season. Attendance 108 including appox 10 from Hallen . Next up Les Phillips Cup Action again at Shepton Mallet. We will never catch up with these league games lol. Martin Cook
Bridport 1 Exmouth Town 3 We were really glad this game was deemed playable by a local REF in the morning .Im not sure about the Ref who had to travel from Falmouth apparently (Complete madness and expensive!!) Town were good value for a half time lead with three great goals . The first a great run from Ben Steer and a pull back for Jordan Harris to smash in The second a great ball in finding Mark Lever to nod the ball in. Jordan Harris scored number 3 just before half time skipping around a defender to notch his 2nd. The second half Bridport came out on the front foot and Town spent a lot of the game in there own half but occaisionally catching Bridport on the break ,but not really looking like adding to their lead. Bridport had the chance to make things interesting when they were awarded a penalty which was saved by Robbie Powell. Bridport did pull a goal back after 88 mins and did lay siege to Towns goal, for the what seemed like a hours added time. ATT 127 including approx 40 from Town Next up a xmas cracker v Parkway next Saturday TheolderIgetthebetterIwas

No Qualms about the Ref wanting to officiate at a higher level , but when the expenses for officials are over £200 it would suggest it would be prudent to have officials not travel so far. In Towns home game against Hallen the week before the Ref came from Gloucester . TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
Ian Pethick
Hope the Exmouth v Parkway game is on tomorrow . It is nicely poised for this season after league game at Bolitho early in the season went the way of Parkway, but the Les Phillips Cup game at Exmouth went in the direction of the home side (an evening to forget for Lee Hobbs' team). Bit of a hangover for Parkway from that last game as well, with Rob Farkins, Craig Duff and Ryan Lane all suspended as a result of their sendings off that night.
