rocky170267
I have to admit it’s pretty horrific to watch if you’re Launceston fan !! Absolute shambles at the back all game and every game lately. Very professionally put together video though and good to see.
Piran
Thank you! I think that is the nature of this league - a sort of 3 in 1. There are probably 6 teams vying for the promotion positions; perhaps 4 or 5 who are fair to middling and capable of the odd upset and then the rest - the unfortunate whipping boys. Paloresow
2020 Vision only applies to the men's side of the game. Ladies' side was withdrawn between the CWFL AGM and the beginning of the season. So yes, it is pertinent to look at the expenditure. Players, in Kernow, are earning 3-4 times what they are in D1 of the Northern League, NCEFL-PD & NWCFL-PD, which are all nominally at Division 10 - i.e. the same level as the SWPFL. The weakest of those leagues' top clubs are found in the NWCFL. IMPO, the top 5-6 clubs in Kernow would not stand up to teams from the East of the Pennines and north of Leics, whose players are earning a pittance by comparison. Difference, in Kernow, is that we do not have a Derbyshire, Notts, Lincs or 3 Ridings surrounding us. It is the operation of the Market, in respect of Wage Inflation, which is being demonstrated. So again, expenditure levels are pertinent in discussion. Simple question is, what happens if/when Hellys reach Division 9? Expenditure is geometric and in line with the Square Rule for upward progression through the English Pyramid, purely in terms of Wage Payments - leaving to one side travel costs. Those top 5-6 clubs simply do not have a sustainable future, at all - whether upon achieving promotion (need further expenditure as one goes up the ladder) or upon having failed to gain promotion (dead money, and a lot of it).
