Season midpoint review

With eight teams having played half their games now, it seems like a good time to have a look at the tables and see how everyone's predictions are panning out.

As widely predicted, Helston and Saltash are there or thereabouts. St Austell have probably surpassed many expectations in that despite losing several key players they are still right in the mix. Mousehole and Bodmin may be disappointed to be as far behind as they are, but both are within touching distance of St Austell if they win their games in hand.

Probably the biggest surprise is St Blazey, widely tipped to be  the league whipping boys. Apart from a mauling by Saltash they've more than held their own against most opposition and are on a good run of form up in 8th place and with a healthy goal difference.

Three of the newly promoted sides are in the top half, with Mousehole still in the title race and only St Dennis really struggling at this level, somewhat dispelling last season's myth of the "Fish and Chip" league.

Surprised with all the hype, Falmouth are not in the listings.

Did not do very well at Christchurch!

We lost the game but won their hearts. To us , that's more important. The Christchurch manager and their committee joined us in the clubhouse for the after game party. They made sure they booked a pre-season friendly with us also. Sometimes BIG AL, there are victories that come from a defeat.

No Jeff...its all about winning the game first.

That's true Jeff, but lose more than you win and the interest falls away.

That's football as well.

Well we are only 6th in the league Baks but our interest is growing. There will be ups and downs along the way but like I said to Deacs the other Friday on his radio programme, the F-Troop are here to stay. I have also just noticed that we have now overtaken St Austell as the best supported club in the SWL. Not a bad effort considering we only reformed properly this season.

Make hay while the sun shines Jeff, on second thoughts maybe that expression is not very appropriate at the moment.

Of course Rayvon, everyone wants to win but like I have said previously, with the F-troop its not just about the football.
