Wadebridge 2, Camelford 2

Thanks to both sides last night for the game. Enjoyed it.

Camelford twice taking the lead, but both times Wadebridge pulled it back.

Ed Harrison scoring both for the visitors with the first from a corner, moving towards the near post and turning the cross in. The second a good effort from further out.

Sam Wickens caught the Camels keeper out with the first equaliser as his free-kick beat him at the right hand unguarded post. The second goal was from the ever-reliable Matt Lloyd. I think Sam wasn't too happy with his delivery of the corber, a little deeper than he would have liked, but it was headed back into the danger area and Lloydy was there to pounce on and knock in.

2-2 at the break.

Wadebridge had the better of the second half, although not by much and in any case without too many scares for the Camels defence. Their cause wasn't helped when Lewis Webber was dismissed for two yellows. The game was just beginning to get away from them, but to be fair they rallied and ended the stronger!

Will the isolation period be up in time for the Boxing day Newquay v G' clash ? or will the situation get worse ?

This fixture still hiolds the SWPL all time attendance record of 737

Luckily as the game is on 27th and not Boxing Day all those effected will be out of isolation and with no game today, the risk of more cases in the squad is significantly lower.

Cases were near double figures Thursday night, sensible decision from Phil in the end 👍🏽🐬

Penryn 2-1 Bodmin

A decent game for the neutral, ryn took an early lead & defended well from then on. Bodmin enjoyed the majority or possession & territory but Penryn had the major chances on the counter. Ryn were awarded a pen with 5 to go, the ref waved play on but the lino flagged for it, the Ryn centre half smashed it him for 2-0. A minute later Bodmin pulled 1 back after a pass rolled under the foot of the Ryn defender which put the forward clean through & he made no mistake. Lively last 5 mins including injury time with Bodmin pressing for the win.

All in all a great game played the right way. The Bodmin gaffer let himself down after the final whistle when he grabbed a Penryn coach round the throat & then tried to fight a fan but had to be held back by his captain among other Bodmin players.

Just back from watching St blazey at Penzance, Blazey looking for more comfortable at the back with the return of Will Tinsley, talked & lead by example, what Blazey have been missing in recent weeks. Over heard Phil saying how important it is he's back.

What a great set up at Penlee Park, always has been one of Cornwalls best grounds.

But Penzance lacking all over the park today, couldn't adapt to Blazey moving the ball or get near them to tackle, a great shame to see one of Cornwalls sleeping giants struggling next to bottom, a few disgruntled supporters in the main stand also come the end, forgot how big the stand is at Penlee.

Good afternoon entertainment, with the starring Will Tinsley returning.

Launceston vs Falmouth was another case of Falmouth doing a job away from home. Never really got into top gear, ground out a result. Not sure why Launceston were launching balls onto the head of the best header of a ball in the league, but they looked a better side than there league position would suggest. Young lad in the centre of midfield for Launceston was decent. Thought James Ward had a very good game, and Marcelo Jones showing his class with an outside of the boot assist to set up the 3rd goal. Not the greatest game, surface probably didn't help.

Boy on the bench, team looked far more solid without him, now daddy spat his dum dum out 🤣🤣🤣

I was referring to Phil Mcrakin, a life long supporter of St. Blazey, show some respect.

Leedsunited.. it’s a week before Christmas, you’re obviously very unhappy with your life and it’s sad to see it really is. But slating players family members now? Dear oh dear. Are you going to slate Neil, Rory, Owen or Reski for being on the bench? The lads were benched today due to the big games coming up, the fact they needed to rest and to allow other players for a run out. It’s the way of the football world you absolute tool. You use to watch Bodmin? Meaning you’ve obviously driven a long way to watch Blazey.. you’re a bit like Silly Billy, old, bitter and a waste peoples oxygen.

Cracking win for the lads! Up the greens 💚🖤💚🖤

St.Dennis 0 - 5 Callington Town.

Can't recall the home side having a decent shot at goal and only a couple of corners in the 90 mins.

Whereas the visitors had a host of chances and squandered all but five, besides numerous corners.

But lots of fresh air and good company under the 'stand'.

Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone.

So the Bodmin Manger Gilbert assaults a opposition player half his size and the forum hardly says a word. Surely this needs a substantial ground ban or what example are we showing kids who are turning up to these games.

The Bodmin manager had to play yesterday due to player call offs.He spent the whole game being shouted at,jeered and gobbed off etc by a small group of fans I'd say young twenties. When he came off the pitch he walked into the group and asked them what they had to say now ? Couple of players pulled him away and that was it.Didn't see him grab anyone by the throat. He had a yellow card for a robust challenge.

A bit of handbags at the final whistle between the two benches, then challenged a spectator on the way off, handbags again.

If he knew the spectator he would have picked on someone else,  not a shrinking violet to say the least.

Just a show of petulance by a grown up man, made a fool of himself if anything.

Great win for the Rynners.

Your usual rather subdued ( if that's the right word ) perception of an event Older, has always earn't the respect of fellow posters on this forum, ours included.
However to refer to what amounts to assault on another as handbags doesn't do any favours to what is supposed to be a sport.
Gilbert has a reputation for foul language and a very short fuse if things don't go his way. i
It's amazing really that it's allowed to reflect on the Bodmin club by their officials who in effect are willing to condone his actions by continuing to use him to represent them as their manager.
Will Mr Gilberts involvement with the Cornwall team be reviewed by the C.C.F.A. ?
The "shrinking violet " you referred to is a likely product of the off field probems that feel encouraged by what evolves during a match.
It's about time that Good Will was signed on by some teams, he is capable of bringing back many of the missing fans who deserted the game when foul mouthed abuse and  aggravating behaviour was allowed to happen in the guise of "banter".!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL !!!!!!!!

Should be encouraging Penzance on here with praise not slagging them off ( it was only Penzance ) some really good young players , thought the keeper & two or three other youngsters were very good .

Thank you we two for your words.

In law what happened between the benches would certainly be classified as assault, but it was a handbag jobby in reality.

The spectator he chose to challenge is a quiet fella who would not have been involved in the goading of the Bodmin manager, he just chose the wrong man I can assure you.

Certainly his behaviour over the years has gone on unabated with what looks his club nor the football hierarchy have the intention of ever reining him in.

As I said, made a fool of himself yet again.

Darren is involved with the Kernow side rather than any affiliated Cornwall FA teams.

This particular aspect falls outside the remit of the FA.

The CCFA can only take action if the referee on the day also takes the appropriate action. This would be issuing the correct sanctions (from the reports, this would a straight red card for the post match antics) followed by an extraordinary misconduct report.

The referee has the power to issue sanctions until they physically leave the field of play, if Darren has grabbed someone by the throat on the way off the field then this is still within the referees powers to red card.

Without the red card and accompanying misconduct report, the CCFA’s hands are tied.

In my time I've played against Darren, refereed him many times and argued with him when watching my team play Bodmin. He's a passionate person that puts everything into what he tries to achieve, unfortunately that passion sometimes boils over that's what some of us are like. If you just took a moment to actually talk to him you would find that he has a great knowledge of the game and a great respect for people around, please don't judge a person by what you see but judge by what you know about the person. He's a good person that sometimes boils over so am I hand so are many others.

Ive seen Bodmin play 3 or 4 times in recent years & in those games I've seen constant abuse from the Bodmin manager towards opposing players, fans & officials. In fact I'd go as far as to say he's the worst I've ever seen in Cornish football for that & the language he uses is disgusting. So to justify his actions by saying he was "jeered & gobbed off" at by a group of fans is a major copout. I didn't realise the bloke had such a reputation but if the comments here are anything to go by it seems he's done this time & time again & will continue to get away with it.

As older stated, the man he chose to try to fight after the game was 1 of the quietest men you'll meet, who was watching the game with 2 committee members (both pensioners) so I highly doubt it was him who goaded the Bodmin manager. As Older also stated the fan is about a foot taller than the gaffer & is certainly not 1 to be messed with, so probably lucky for him that his players dragged him away & split it up.

As for the throat grab it's pretty irrelevant that you didn't see it, as I saw it as did many people on twitter who have reported seeing it. It happened.

He is a nice bloke off the pitch but on it or on the sidelines he not at all.
having been on the end of one of his naughty challenges  before followed by a tirade of abuse  it’s something he does time and time again.
I just wondered why he never grown out of it. It all very embarrassing now even the opposition fans no a few words get him worked up.
And fact he still playing at his age when Bodmin must have about 300 players signed on is ridiculous in it self.

Torpoint Athletic 4-1 Cullompton Rangers

SWPL Premier Division East

With Robbie Morris at The Mill

Torpoint Athletic are up to 4th in the SWPL Premier Division East table after another fine performance at The Mill on Saturday afternoon with a hat-trick from striker Ryan Richards in this comprehensive win over Cullompton Rangers.

The visitors started off brightly with a number of half chances from Jack Bryant and Aiden Horne to put the pressure on the home side right from the start but their early dominance was short lived as the men from The Mill clicked into gear from ten minutes in to the match.

On the tenth minute the home side had their first chance of the match when Ryan Richards broke clear of The Cully defence and took a shot from the edge of the area with visiting keeper Aaron Marks blocking the ball and pushed it round the post.

A couple of minutes later the hosts took the lead when CallumThompson shot home from 12 yards after Curtis Damerell put the ball in to Thompson after Damerell made the most of a Cullomptondefensive mistake.

A minute later Darren Hicks could of doubled the lead for the home side when he lobbed the ball from 25 yards, the ball rattled the crossbar.

On the 22nd minute the home side doubled their advantage on the visitors when Richards dribbled the ball around visiting keeper Marks to shoot home into an empty net.

On the half hour mark the visitors could have got back into the match when Joe Willinson curled the ball inches wide of the far post.

Four minutes later the home side scored their third of the afternoon when a 40 yard superb pass over the top from Paul Heveran found Richards to clinically finish past Marks.

On the 40th minute, more good build up play by the home side found Mike Lucas to shoot just wide from the edge of the area.

With a couple minutes left of the first half, Wilkinson for the visitors had a one on one with home keeper Jason Peters who well saved the ball and then Darren Hicks blocked the loose ball.

On the 58th minute Cullompton pulled a goal back when Aiden Horne shot home from just inside the area to reduce the deficit.

Just after the hour the mark the visitors were reduced to ten men, when Jack Lewis was shown a straight red card for an elbow on Torpoint’s Paul Heveran.

On the 73rd minute Ryan Richards restored the home sides three goal advantage when he shot home from close range to get his hat-trick. Callum Thompson and Charlie Hardcastle created this goal when they both interchanged passes for the latter to set up Richards.

In the last couple of minutes of the match, the home side kept on the pressure when Richards headed the ball just wide of the far post and Sam West shot just wide of the post from 20 yards.

The really worrying thing is that there are people willing to come on here nd defend his actions, even referring to him as a gentleman off the pitch.
Maybe the next time they meet the gentleman off the pitch they will be kind enough to tell him what a fool he makes of himself when dealing with football on the pitch.
The attitude used does nothing to improve the chances of our national game ever being upheld as being a place fit to take a family to.

A friend who lives accross the county in Polperro has just rung  to say that his day out yesterday involved travelling away to watch Polperro play in the St Pirans league.
On arrival at the hosts ground, and although not in any official capacity, he was greeted at the gate like a long lost friend.
His wife wanted to have a cup of tea, so they went in to the clubhouse where a cuppa was £1 and they were offered mince pies F.O.C. and the compliments of the season.
He said that it appears that Good Will still plays his part in some areas, the hosts ( Sticker ) even shared the points !!
