Be interesting to see who Dane brings with him to Bodmin because the team there at present is not good enough and just Dane in the dressing room wont make a difference.

It will also prove a lot of people wrong who was saying that Dane can't recruit or nobody wanted to play for him etc.

It would be more interesting if Dane came in and work with the existing players to see whether he could improve the performances and results, rather than bringing in well known good experience players. Obviously, performances and results will improve with the latter, but is this really the best way to sustainably move a club forward ? Are they trying to run before they can walk?

But is the current squad good enough? Looking at results it seems some recruitment is needed

I’m sure he will give a few a chance but let’s be honest most of them are not to that standard . Dane did very well at Saltash when he took over from Matt  and help keep the squad and add some good youngsters

heard he asked Sam huges from Saltash  to go down there with him  not sure if that will happen but a great signing if he does

Based on results I agree, however, shouldn’t it be the case that a new manager works with the existing squad for a few games to see what is required (unless he’s already watched them play a few times) rather than signing players regardless. The sign of a good manager is initially getting better results out of the same squad and gradually building on that with specific identified signings to build a squad with consistency. Wendron over the last few years would seem to adopt this approach, without incentives I believe, and have slowly become a real force and are still going in the right direction despite some managerial changes. Surely this should be Bodmin’s approach, but they seem to prefer the boom and bust approach. Best of luck though, as the league needs a strong competitive Bodmin team 👍

He's been watching Bodmin a fair bit lately, the last being when they played Callington last Wednesday.

Just confirmed on Bodmin twitter what we all guessed would happen. Dane Bunney unveiled as the new gaffer.

Good luck to Dane Bunney. He proved a lot of people wrong when he took over at Saltash, although the previous manager left them in a pretty good state.

See Dane already bringing in a few new faces.  Lee rundle from callington and Christian moss. Not sure they be the exciting signing Bodmin would hope for but maybe better then they have ??

Would think that just getting the same  eleven on the pitch every week would be a good start for Dane. The current revolving door is no good for anybody.

Callington really struggling to hold onto their better players it seems!

Wendron 1. Bodmin 1.

Haven't seen Bodmin yet this season until today but they didn't look like a side that was getting hammered most weeks. A win for Wendron would have put them equal on points with St Blazey and they are a good side. Cameron Wheat on the bench today as well.

Wendron did have the better of the 1st half and took the lead from a well-worked goal with TJ Walter heading in at the far post from a great cross. However, Bodmin hung on in there and the half finished at 1-0.

Bodmin lacked some pace up front but that all changed when they brought on Owusu Fidelie early in the 2nd half. He broke away on the left, beat his man and forced a great save from Fearn in the Wendron goal.  Shortly after he took the ball down the right flank. and after some smart footwork, delivered a great cross to the far post and think it was Ruben Kane who headed in.  Christian Moss and particularly Lyle Johnson looked decent players when they came on from the bench as well.

Bodmin should be ok if they can field this squad every week.

The West Division is really tight with only 6 points separating Bude at the top, down to Dobwalls in seventh. If Bodmin can get some sort of "Bunney Hop" going (one for Westward TV viewers of a certain age) and put 4 or 5 wins together, then they could conceivably think about getting into this group. Like somebody else said though, this season has effectively gone, and is a free hit for Dane.
