Ian Pethick
The rest of the league must be hoping that Saltash can take something off Bridgwater tonight.
sportsman10
Sounded like a close game at bridgewater. Saltash had the use of Owen Howe up front for 10 mins by sound of it till he got sent off. Expensive 10 mins that.

SomersetObserver
Saltash will think themselves unlucky not to have collected a point last night on the back of a second half performance where it looked as though they were the team with 11. It was the 4th time I've seen Bridgwater this season and the 4th time they have gone ahead in less than 10 minutes but 3 of those games have been very similar they have been 2-0 goals up in within 40 minutes but ended up holding on at the end for 2-1 wins. They always start very direct and at 100 miles an hour but do seem to struggle as the game wears on. Saltash can have no complaints with the red card and to their players credit none of them attempted to. Second half Saltash played some good football, but it always seemed to break down when it got into the striker but the first time in the half he managed to get hold of the ball and bring his teammates into play they worked the well from right to left and 3 crossed for 7 who scored a good header (3 and 7 were Saltash' two stand out players for me last night). From then on it was one way traffic with the best chance coming in stoppage time with Carter heading his free header straight at the keeper from a free kick. Philheybrookbay
7 was Alex Cairo and 11 Callum Merrin. It was a really great game- Bridge bossed 1st half but by the end of 2nd they were clinging on. Like most squads injuries took a few out the last few games but the fact Bridgwater fans clapped off the Ashes and their committee were very clear on what a hard battle and that we were the best side they’d faced in the league. Onwards to Street Saturday who had spies out in force. Thanks to Bridgwater for making us so welcome last night. Proper club, decent people, decent fans.
