Ian Pethick
The FA Cup dream is over for Parkway after being edged out after extra time by step 2 Oxford City. So near, yet so far after going 1-0 up in the first half through Billy Palfrey, sub Jack Crago unfortunately missed a big chance on 87 minutes to make it 2-0 . Oxford City then punished this by grabbing a stoppage time equaliser. City nosed ahead for the first time in the tie with a goal in the first half of extra time, and then grabbed a late, late third with Parkway chasing the game. Parkway can take a lot from this tie, and the confidence that they can go toe to toe with sides at this level, but the game ultimately hinged on the two key moments at either end of the pitch late in the game. Parkway didn't take their chance, Oxford City did. Very thin margins indeed. On to the FA Trophy at home against Dorchester on Saturday, but then a really big seven days next week with away matches against bottom club Yate, and struggling Harrow. Ultimately, these will be the matches that will show where Parkway is at. sportsman10, Tractor Boy and JonColenzo
