Hearing on the grape vine that all the players from the season just gone are leaving. Big job for Macca to recruit a whole new squad if that’s the case.

And potentially problematic for Millbrook as well if he goes back to his old club for players.

Good luck to Macca and Mark at Saltash. An experienced duo who work well together, hopefully will instill a bit of stability at The Ashes.

If he takes players from his old club, what's the point in changing clubs? Seems odd.

There does seem to be hints of misogyny and sexism in the comments about the Saltash chair (not just recently, but over the past season).

Unfortunately the club is not being run very well at all. It has potential to be massively successful with the right person at the helm of it.

🤦‍♂️ Finished second in the league despite the poorly run club 👀

The club finished 2nd because of players on the pitch, not the people running it. Budget been cut massively for the coming season, players and staff still not received their money yet for 2nd part of the season, the chairwoman didn’t want promotion but it’s clubs being run well 🙄😂

You literally are a disgrace. Why have you and your colleagues used money bought in by Shane Krac intended for the budget, elsewhere in the club resulting in the players not being fully paid.

In the meantime you’re on here making light of the situation.

Hetty is so concerned about players not being paid lol,, what club you involved with ? Would love to know

Already at this early stage of the close season it looks like it will be Macca’s team next season with already so many players from the 2022-23 side leaving Saltash. Callum Martindale announcing he’s going on top of already Charlie Elkington, Sam Farrant, Sam Hughes, Danny Lewis and Henry Wilson!

I wonder at this early stage of the summer why Saltash should be losing players to other Western League clubs?

Perhaps it might be because that they never got fully paid for last season’s efforts, I’ve no idea if that was true or not, only going by rumours put on here previously.

As we don't know, and probably never will, probably best not to bother with rumours! :)

Maybe because other Western league clubs have more ambition? ?
Exactly the same reason that the manager has gone so expect a number to follow him to a more suitable and ambitious set up maybe.

Saltash United are playing a blinder here and no one can see it.

I keep seeing the words "no ambition" on this thread and on twitter. What is ambition?

1. Shane Krac was a nightmare appointment. Club got this one wrong. Brought in players offering them the world that the club couldn't sustain. Brought before committee to explain and threw his toys out of the pram and left. Hence the reason why the club couldn't pay them in full. How did he get on at Tavistock and where is he now? 🤨

2. Danny is respected at Saltash. Yes he's gutted. He was told in no uncertain terms that his budget would be slashed and there was a wind of change happening in the club that is long overdue. The club wanted him to continue and herald a new era. Have a look at how well their kids are doing in the DJM leagues and where have they ended up in the past. Not playing for Saltash thats for sure! Have a look at their St Piran League side from 2 seasons ago and chat to them. Did they believe they could break into the first team? No! Because they were being out favoured by Parkway rejects! Where are they now?

3. Macca Brown has bought into the new ethos at the club, and appears from the outside to be the perfect manager to take charge right now. Develop their own. Something the club has been slated for NOT doing for years. They don't have the financial backing that Mousehole or Parkway have so have gone in a different direction.

4. All the players from the last season appear to have buggered off. What does that say about those players, and what kind of manager would want that attitude in their club?

5. How many accounts Does Dane Bunny have on this forum?  He just can't let go

Because they are clearly motivated by nothing other than money and will hold on like a leach to the next club that will fall for it. Bigger fool to that club!

If as you state in your first point that 'the club could not pay them in full' then it probably goes some way to explaining why they have as you put it 'buggered off'.

Fair point.

But let's be fair, this is non league step 5 in the middle of a cost of living crisis with teams folding left right and centre. Do we really want anymore Cornish sides having to do this because of the demands of their most 'loyal' players who have lived and breathed the club for season after season for an extra tenner? I think not

So what is the plan ? Drop back into the peninsula  league as it cost less money  ?  I don’t get what your argument is.
The team you had  last season of the so called ex parkway players almost got you promoted to the southern league  and now have all left with the manager  and you think that a positive?  as youth team players can now get in first 11 ???
bit harsh calling all the ex  players greedy just because they are ambitious and want to move on to a club that match’s it.

Agreed it’s harsh on those players. We’ve just had one of the best seasons, those lads and Kracky were brilliant for the club. A different blend of football names started to come over and mixed with the old. On Plymouths doorstep this a positive to the bigger football world of progression.

Getting to know the lads, people would have stayed and enjoyed their football I feel playing for the club they’ve enjoyed playing for over the last season/ few years. Add in they are really nice people.

With the squad just finishing 2nd and showing progress year on year, it isn’t really a positive either at this point to think it’s all change (time will tell, encouraging appointment). Look at Luton, sky said get recruitment right etc. Kracky had helped with that.

I don’t know much about Tavi players, some must be from outside the town too, look at where they are now. They play another countryside based town in Cinderford. If they can do it then why not us.

It off course would be good for youth team players etc but that’s more an internal thing if deemed they don’t get chance.

The most important fact is that every Club Committee has a duty to ensure their Club's survival. It's very simple to set a budget but far more difficult to accurately predict and/or raise the necessary income to finance it. Supporters should be happy that Clubs " live within their means", rather than risk insolvency or oblivion!

Dave Barker and Callum Martindale confirmed. COB rumoured. What's going to happen to the existing defence?

If Curtis Damerell also signs then where does that leave Rikki Shepherd and Rubin Wilson? Both were very good last season.

Damerell confirmed via Helston Twitter, big squad of players to keep happy there 💸

To be fair think helston need another striker . They were lucky that rikki or Rubin didn’t get injured last season . Two strikers is not enough to win the league but what a front 3 that is , serious fire power
