Mike Odgers
When will the Southern League fixtures be released ? I see The National League fixtures are out on Wednesday. Who will draw the short straw at Bolitho Park (City or Parkway) and play at Home on the same Saturdays's as Argyle at Home Park. ?
Gary Hocking
The SL has said only “week commencing 17th July”. Mike Odgers
Footy follower
What Are They Writing the fixtures with...crayons ....and counting the games on an abacus I know it's not an easy job etc etc but surely 2 weeks before the season is a bit late Ian Pethick
Gary Hocking
Pretty sure (but stand to be corrected) that after the National League release their fixtures on Wednesday then the only leagues within the whole pyramid from Premier League down to NLS Step 6 that won’t have released their fixtures will be be the Isthmian, Northern & Southern Leagues at Steps 3 & 4, and for those we have to wait a further fortnight 🤷♂️
Foul Throw 3
Seems very late. Only thing I can think is if their fixtures secretary is unavailable during the off season and that's when they will be back and have time to action them. So Mousehole Dev will be waiting too and therefore all/majority of St Piran Prem West as well.
Tavi Fan
I thought the Western League fixtures secretary was poor until we joined the Southern League. Although I don’t envy them trying to sort out mid week games for Mousehole Luke Gibbons
Ian Pethick
Does seem odd that, in these days of software packages that are capable of putting fixture lists together, we have to wait until mid July before they're released. No idea why it takes so long. Doesn't help clubs that need to arrange travel, catering, rostering matchday staff etc in the next couple of weeks. Maybe Phil Hiscox of the SWPL could give them a tutorial in how to get it done quickly and efficiently. Perhaps, just as the FA insist that all the leagues in the system have to be completed by the end of April, there should be one standardised date when all the fixtures for the respective leagues and steps are released. Steve Carpenter
The release of the Southern League fixtures is also frustrating the compilation of the St Piran League fixtures in the west as Mousehole Development games can't be sorted until their first team fixtures are known and this rolls on down through the divisions. We've been asking questions and not really getting any answers - until today. We now know that a company called Atos does all of the fixtures from the Premier League down to Step 4 and has done for the last 10-15 years. It starts with the Premier League and works down with (obviously) Step 4 being the last to be done. Atos has visibility of all of the ground shares across the pyramid which is one of the reasons why the FA contract them, a situation that I understand will not change. Whilst this doesn't alleviate the St Piran Leagues frustrations at least we now know why and we can stop badgering the Southern League officials. Should Mousehole Development achieve their ambition of promotion to the SWPL Phil will also have a similar problem when putting his fixtures together which may create further delays down the chain. FootballChat
A common sense approach would see Mousehole either playing away or home to the more local sides in the early weeks of the season. Probably open the season with a trip away (less traffic on the way out of Cornwall) and then a few home games hosting Tavistock or Exmouth? There's never going to a good time for a club to travel down the depths of Mousehole but the summer holidays are certainly the worst time!

We asked for our first few games last season to be away as the road towards the ground was closed and the league didn’t give a toss. Ian Pethick
At first glance, only three Parkway home league matches up until the New Year clash with Argyle being at Home Park on the same Saturday (from the point of view of the club's coffers, this doesn't include Boxing Day). Of course, inclement weather and FA Cup/Trophy ties for both Parkway and Truro will likely drive a coach and horses through a large chunk of this fixture list anyway. A minimum of 44 league games to be played on Bolitho this season (compared to last season's 42), this will test the ground staff's skills.
