John Henry
Have since heard that the attendance was 620 if right that’s incredible support, yes it’s a local derby and many Bridgwater supporters went to the game but it a great advert for step 5/6 football Town Fan, Ian Pethick and Buckland Jim

Ian Pethick
Shows that there is still an appetite for County Cup football as well, still think that the Cornish FA have missed a major opportunity by not having the county's step 2 and 4 sides involved in the Senior Cup. Would certainly give the competition some added spice. Needs looking at, you could well have Helston or Falmouth (or even both, and let's not forget Torpoint in all of this) playing at step 4 next season and, as it stands, not eligible. Falmouth v Mousehole , for example, midweek under the Bickland Park floodlights . A cup tie to savour and you could well get a crowd approaching 1,000. Something to ponder I guess. John Henry
Totally agree with you it’s your county cup and all teams should be proud of playing in local Derbys against clubs from step 4/3 and it does generate big crowds, last night western league Division one leaders Portishead a step 6 side played Taunton Town a great experience for the club to be playing at a step 3 club in front of a big crowd, for your county it has to be the way forward bringing in new supporters maybe for the first time.I know here in Somerset if In the next round Taunton draw Bridgwater home or away you’re looking at 1500 plus in attendance. Enjoy your football my friend.🔴⚫️⚽️ Buckland Jim
Paul
The Senior cup is now just like a league cup. Once you stop the lower sides competing as well it becomes exactly that. There won't be cup giant killings in it anymore. MattP, Ian Pethick, claret&blue and 2 others

Perhaps it could be run in a similar manner to the F.A. Cup, where the higher league clubs come into the competiton in the later rounds, or like the F.A. Vase, where the entry is based on the advancement in the previous year's competiton. The important thing is to make the Cornwall Senior Cup inclusive, while avoiding large numbers of extra matches. Just a few thoughts. Ian Pethick, mattelot and MattP

Perhaps the traditional Easter Monday final needs to be looked at, this is a major prohibitive factor in getting the National and Southern League teams involved (this day always has league games scheduled). Know that many people will object strongly as it has always been seen as a showpiece event in the county but, in my opinion, a large part of that was lost when the Junior Cup final ceased to be the curtain raiser. Is there any chance that the Cornwall FA could revert back to the previous format as a result of pressure from the majority of clubs, is there a voting process ? Yes they did. Given most clubs play Good Friday as matter of course, and certainly the TSWL use Easter Monday as a date for P-P games that could have an impact. Back at the vote there was an option for playing May Day Monday but it was decided tradition was better. With the NSL finishing 30th April that could have helped. Completely agree Paul, really disappointing for the St Piran clubs; we’ve had some great trips to the likes of Bodmin and Falmouth, and hosted Blazey, Penryn etc in the past. They could certainly have extended it to a few of the top St Piran sides and allowed the Western League clubs in later Yourhavingalaugh, pillatonreferee, Town Fan and 2 others

Paul
The vote went out but who actually voted? Probably like most clubs, the one person who read the email I suppose. But does that reflect the average 150 supporters for example? I always think back to the day Illogan won at Blaise Park 1v4 I believe. They made it a real cup atmosphere with their support that day and it was a huge win for them. Those kind of upsets cannot happen now. That's a shame for those clubs and for clubs like St Blazey, Liskeard, Falmouth, St Austell etc to visit lower league clubs.
