Point against Torpoint and Helston are champions and promoted (realistically, given their vastly superior goal difference, they are already). Clevedon and Torpoint ending goalless means that if Barnstaple fail to win at Bridgwater on Tuesday night, then Falmouth will take the runners up spot, and that all important home advantage in the play offs. Bobby Thomas
Falmouth lost 2 - 0 away at Shepton Mallet...always a tough place to get a result! Helston won 3 - 2 at home to Buckland. It's been a very good couple of days for Helston!

Yourhavingalaugh
TBH, Falmouth have been punching above their weight, credit to them. Buckland, Barnstaple and Bridgwater should have been pushing Helston, not Falmouth and Clevedon. sportsman10
Over a 1000 there to watch the game against Falmouth but only about 150 odd to watch on the saturday a team going for the title. If they have a more modest season what will the gate be? Too reliant on ‘sugar daddy’ money, otherwise unconvinced they are sustainable at SL level. If it's on budget them please tell me what everyone's budget is, if it's on history then Falmouth's certainly stands up against others. Falmouth are the best supported team in the Western league, which generates it's own revenue regardless of budget, they've made the last 8 of the Vase, semi finals of the senior cup, got a great youth set up, well managed, good fanbase, why shouldn't they be challenging. All credit to them for competing on all fronts, running Helston close & being a credit to Cornish football. mattelot, MattP, Thecupfootballblogger and 5 others
SomersetObserver
Falmouth comfortably beaten by a Mallet side who out fought, out ran and out played them from the first whistle until the last. Falmouth were unable to live with Mallet skipper Jacob Sloggett who tore them apart. Falmouth offered little in response and I can only remember one shot on target which was a tame free kick from the corner of the penalty area. Falmouth who have looked so good on their visits to Somerset in recent weeks never got any control of the game and were well and truly rattled by a Mallet side who ran out deserved and comfortable winners. Not knocking it mind, what they do is their business. Congratulations to them on winning the Western league. From our point of view at Falmouth Town we are really proud of our players and backroom staff for giving us an amazing season reaching the last 8 of the FA vase, a semi final of the CSC to play this Wednesday at St Blazey v Newquay plus a draw this Saturday will ensure we are at home for the play offs. All this wonderful football watched by the Western leagues biggest attendances, Bickland park on matchdays is electric. Our journey under Westys management has been wonderful. There have been tears and there has been joy and we've loved every minute of it and look forward to more adventures together. Roll on Wednesday evening !!!! Never knock a determined man with a dream! ⚽️👍👏🏼 And what a brilliant season again for Town, Westy well on the way to his statue in the entrance to Bickland Park!! A Vase Qtr final, 2 games away from another senior cup final win, and runners up in a really tough competitive league and 2 Bickland wins away from promotion! We could have Mousehole, Helston and Falmouth all in the Southern league next season!! In Mattelots defence he’s been away for a couple of weeks with his good wife on a well deserved luxury cruise for them both!! 👍⚽️. Hope you’ll be refreshed for the play offs mate 😀👍⚽️🧡🖤 Town Fan, Thecupfootballblogger and Jeff Chambers
Toastie
Well done to Helston on winning the title they’ve been there all season. I wouldn’t swap What Falmouth have done this season for the title though. the trip to Jersey alone was a once in a blue moon occasion. best away trip ever and of course we still have a chance of taking that other cup out of Helston’s trophy cabinet UTT 💛🖤 Town Fan and mattelot
