Is this some bloke who has looked at the release lists and goal stats of clubs and put a wish-list together or does he have some pedigree in the game?

Fair enough suggesting unattached players but a bit disrespectful suggesting players already presumably committed to their clubs (Such as Oscar Massey)

That being said, if he hadn't had mentioned Massey I wouldn't be on here moaning!

Does Oscar have a contract at Falmouth?

If not then he's fair game for clubs higher up the league

Would any of them players really want to up root and travel to Truro to play. .  Even Massey would think how much game time he going to get infront of Harvey and rockey.

The new manager must be confident of getting players to relocate to the SW ( assume he has, think he was based in Yorkshire). Unfortunately, and despite what some on here think, you are going to struggle to be competitive in step 2 football by recruiting solely in Devon and Cornwall.  There just isn't the pool of players.

In one of his initial interviews after purchasing the club, new owner Eric Perez talked about helping players out with the move back to Truro. That could mean overnight hotel stays, or accommodation for players from out of the area. This is what happens on a lesser scale at Mousehole.

Wow its quiet.

Just got be patient I guess. Hard though for a Truro fan to look at the activity at other clubs in the NLS, and not be slightly worried or envious.

Would think that things will start to happen on the player front as we get close to pre season.

On a positive note, the commercial team do seem to be very active. New sponsors being announced on an almost daily basis.

Yes the commercial side has been a pleasant surprise - suggests the manager will have some sort of budget to work with.

Come on the Thinners !

:yahoo:

Which team have more nicknames than players?

Which team have had more badges this millenium than players?

Which team have had more home grounds than players?

Take your pick as to the trivia pursuit question that best suits 😄

I reckon they're going to unveil about half a dozen signings in what can only be described as a social media frenzy

Quite possibly. Would think they have several players training with them on a trial basis, and they will probably want to see them in a match environment before making a decision. I would think that they have made offers to others, and will be waiting on them accepting terms.

Step 3 Dorchester's  manager spoke last week about how difficult he's found recruitment this summer with quality targets training with several clubs, biding their time and weighing up numerous options before committing. Could be what is happening at Truro.

It wont, as Torquay will win the League. Paul Wotton is a great loss to Truro City and not keeping hold of him will probably be something they will regret big time. He`s signing players of a great quality for not only the league that they aim to win and get out of but for many leagues higher, geographically Torquay Utd is a  better placed club to attract players of higher calibre. many supporters are really excited about what's happening at the club, thus season tickets and merchandise has rocketed.

They're certainly throwing everything at it. Dan Hayfield and Jordan Dyer, both brought in from Bath City (they seem unhappy with the manner in which Torquay conducted themselves here) in recent days, were amongst the best players in the NLS last season. The new ownership and management is certainly generating a lot in terms of buzz and revenue which, together with Neil Warnock's myriad of connections and contacts, will mean that they can bolster the squad as and when it is needed.

Truro City must be looking on very enviously at this, although they can look forward to a potential sell out at Langarth when Paul Wotton takes his new club there for a league visit.

You beat me to it mate!! When Deacs and I visited the ground a couple months ago Nige, John and Rosey was saying the capacity will be set at 3000 for now but there’s loads of potential for obviously a lot more as and when required. How good would that be to see Truro v Torquay attract a 3000 crowd to the ground in its first season!! Sure there will be a lot of interest for that game no doubt! As we know Nige, there’s only one Bickland Park, iconic Cornish ground which can’t be beaten for me, although how lucky are we to have some fantastic venues in Cornish football!! Langarth will be right up there when it’s all finished for sure, unreal views already!! The lads have done a superb job no doubt about it and anyone will be impressed when they visit for the first time! Personally even though I was involved at Exeter for a bit I always like to see Argyle, Torquay, and obviously born and bred in Truro want to see all our top clubs do well whatever pro level they play at, good for Westcountry football. Hopefully Falmouth and Helston will do us proud along with Mousehole again in the Southern league, next season should be a great one to follow for all us lovers of Cornish football 👍👏🏼

Someone's bitter...

The club have no choice but to make a lot of signings, there were a load of departures. If Truro are slow off the mark, that's City's fault, not Torquay's.

Yep, proper bitter. A club thats been mismanaged for years, gets new owners and now its spend spend spend.

Also there are a few well known rumours about Colin..

Was expecting a bit more, flood gates opening etc etc

Tuesday night at Torpoint will be the first chance for City fans to see what has gone on player wise so far.

On another note, has anybody seen or heard anything from John Askey? Interesting that it was Stewart Yetton who gave the quotes regarding pre season.

First friendly for City tomorrow night at Torpoint, and the first glimpse of the new side in the John Askey era. Thinking that there will be many unnamed trialists on display.

Whats the rules with naming unnamed trialists on here? Are we allowed to speculate?

One for Dave Deacon I think. Remember watching PSF's with unnamed trialists in line ups, and the chances were that somebody in the crowd recognised them. They then of course told others, who told others and it then got spread on social media. Perhaps trailists should be made to wear disguises (the "Masked Trialist" sounds like an idea for a TV show).
