Ian Pethick
Adds a bit of depth to the centre back area. What has happened to Ben Adlesbury? Struggled with injuries last season, but not been seen either in the starting line up or on the bench since the first game of the season v Dorking. Ian Pethick
Scott Burgess now signs. A serious player at this level and above who was a free agent after being released by York City, and is well known to John Askey. I think, an addition to get excited about, and it possibly signals that the owners are thinking of more than just consolidation this season Graham Martin

I hope the ambitions are realistic and sustainable. The Town Man

No idea if it was his or somebody else's idea to part ways, but looked like he was doing a good job. Another list of new sponsors/backers for City was announced this week (although the glaring lack of a shirt sponsor is there for all to see). Ben Adlesbury started for Tavi in their league defeat at home to Exmouth today. No word from them or Truro as to whether this is a loan or permanent arrangement. Ian Pethick Posted yesterday at 09:29 Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:29 Just listened to John Askey on the CS Podcast, heard him talk about the "hybrid" system they have in the squad, with full time players alongsi the part time contingent. Presumably this means that one group has several daytime training sessions within the week, with another group attending on a couple of evenings. Just wondering how this works in practice regarding fitness and coaching/tactics sessions.

Ian Pethick Posted yesterday at 09:52 Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:52 8 minutes ago, Dave Deacon said: John seemed to think it works fine! Logical way to go for City, especially given the location of the club and the constraints it creates in terms of attracting players. Suspect that there's very few clubs at step 2 level that operate on a purely part time basis. As you've pointed out on the podcast, the commitment required for players in the NLS makes it almost impossible to combine this with being in a full time job.
