panda
Millbrook played their last match of the season yesterday. They lost 4-0 to Old Abbotonians but they deserve a bit of credit for fulfilling their fixtures. Tommy Matthews
Can’t actually believe they completed the season. Fair play to all the players who stepped up in spite of knowing they were in for a hammering and credit to their manager for keeping it all together. Unhappy at the abrupt sacking of Ben Watson right on the eve of the Les Phillips final and it looks like there is a mass exodus from the squad that got to the play offs last season. Rumours that the chairman wants to go with younger and more locally based players, which is usually code for, "the money has run out." teflon123
Happens all the time at Barnstaple. For the last 10 years or so they go from a season full of money, then a season of struggles, then a season of money. Club needs stability.

Don't know if you listened to Joe Scott on the CS Memories podcast. He described his brief spell at Barnstaple in the early 80's as one of, "being paid in coins from the social club fruit machine."
