forest
West div Helston 4 Falmouth 1 Fairly even game for the first hour, not surprisingly played at a slow pace in the heat. Helston dominated once Falmouth reduced to 10 for a double yellow card

The large amount of games that’s been played in the past 5/6 weeks has taken a toll on the squad, leaving us with at least half picking knocks/ injuries. It left us with no choice but to concede the game yesterday due to low numbers. Being in the top 4 of the division it’s completely unlike us to not fulfill the fixture but we have to turn our attention to getting a squad together for the next game. RAPPO
PORTHLEVEN 3-1 PERRANWELL HT 0-0 ATTENDANCE: 125 REF: MR TIM REEKS TEMP: 24c Gala Park looked lovely in the boiling sun, felt sorry for the players the longer the match went on, absolutely roasting day, sensible drinks break after 25 minutes of each half by excellent ref Mr Tim Reeks, never whistle happy, always tries to keep the play flowing, never about himself, really good ref 👏🏼👍⚽️ Port edged the 1st half with the lively Rocco Hill pace and skills causing problems, cutting the ball back a few times from the byline and cutting inside and shooting himself on a couple occasions, did I hear he is only 17? If so great talent, reminds me a bit of Falmouths Cam Hutchison. Luckily for the Well most of Ports shots went over the bar flying towards the harbour before the visitors almost went in front right on half time when Ben Rapsey’s volley was blocked and it came back to him off a defender but his second attempt was not as powerful and was well saved by Port keeper Jason Robertson quick off his line. The hosts went ahead 10 minutes into the 2nd half and fittingly it seemed it was Hill who hit a great strike into the roof of the net from 15 yards. The visitors have proved a tough side to beat lately and they came back into the game within 8 minutes when Justin Miles burst through the middle and crashed a trademark shot past Robertson who did well to get something on it. Port were not to be denied and played some cracking football at times and Steve Maycock and young Sam Fisher made some great blocks and tackles at the heart of the visiting defence before Frazer Pattersons snap shot found the corner of Billy Hollands net 15 minutes from time. Somehow Perranwell threw everything forward trying for an equaliser, they were almost out on their feet after a 0-1 home defeat to Illogan Tuesday night followed by a 4-1 win at Penryn on Thursday night and playing in this heat on the Saturday on the biggest pitch in Cornwall and with a great header from Adam Selley was plucked out of the top corner with a brilliant save from Robertson 7 minutes from time. As so often happens chasing an equaliser throwing bodies forward Port was finding plenty of space with their quick counter attacks and with almost the last kick of the game they broke free 2 on 1 and an unselfish square pass across the 6 yard box saw Dan Parker tap in to wrap up the match. Well done to both sets of players for producing a fast paced decent game like that in heat we ain’t witnessed for about the last 8 months!!! 👏🏼👍⚽️
