St.Austell 1 - 2 Street.

Good game.

Draw would have been a fair result .

Street strong in defence offering St.Austell meagre opportunities.

St.Austell can take heart with plenty of possession, but little to show for their endeavours.

Crowd number not give but somewhere in the region of 250/ 300.

Saltash 1 Brixham 1

Draw a fair result, Brixham very physical and aimed to try and get a player sent off. Didn't work and whilst they opened the scoring on 83rd min, 2 mins later we levelled via Aaron Goulty. Brixham won't win many friends with that style but they'll get points.

Att 150 - pretty good.

to be fair on Welton Rovers, they didn’t even have a manager a few days ago and most of the players don’t even know his name or where he came from ! Early days but some really good young players out there today.

Buckland we’re outstanding in parts but far from where they need to be.

As for Blazey, great set up and will continue to rebuild I’m sure

Saltash 1 Brixham 1

Fair result, both teams lacked any attacking flare and both looked weak up front, both had a mix of young and older, Saltash  grabbed a equaliser soon after going behind, were both teams looked like they would never score, out of the few chances either side created,

Early days but two  8 nil wins on the first day isht probably what you want in a top league.

I was thinking this myself. Not a good advert for the league and worrying starts for them both. Millbrook had a similar start last year but hopefully these two are just one offs.

Ouch that a tough day at the office for Blazey a rebuilt team but it will be  a Shame to see them getting hammered every week  .  Early days but two  8 nil wins on the first day isht probably what you want in a top league.

Must of been a demoralising  trip home in the mini bus :(

I went to Clevedon v Barnstaple, Clevedon on top later part of the second half after an even start. Two well taken goals.

More even second half, good save to deny Gabby Rogers a penalty, Barum huffed and puffed and probably shaded second half but had a man sent off late into the game which killed off any hope of a comeback.

Barum did better than I expected

Brislington 8v0 St Blazey. Att.169

A 13 hour day, 310 mile round trip to get hammered as a new look side with only 2 players from last season starting. With pre season such a non event with it being so short it's going go to take time to get this side up and running.

5v0 at half time and then reduced to 10 men, it was game over and damage limitation.

We go again on Wednesday when Saltash visit Blaise Park.

Clear your heads and go again. Just got to see it as only 3 points dropped, plenty more to play for.

Hi everyone, I’m back after my summer break! It’s been a great break with a holiday on the Isle of Wight. Oh well back to business!

Yesterday’s match report

Saturday 27th July
Torpoint Athletic 2-0 Oldland Abbotonians
Jewson Western League, Premier Division
With Robbie Morris at The Mill

A new look Torpoint Athletic got off to the perfect start for their 2024/25 Western League campaign when two second half goals from Luke Cloke and Theo Ramsey sealed victory at The Mill.
For the first 15 minutes it was an even affair when both sides exchanged half chances.
On the 17th minute the hosts created some good build up play to find Harvey Mullis to fire his effort from 18 yards, but a visiting defender cleared the ball off the line, then ten minutes later Luke Cloke shot from 15 yards was put around the post by visiting keeper Ashton Trott.
Just passed the half hour mark, a long ball by Torpoint’s Matt Edwards to Rory Simmons, who crosses the ball to Cloke, his effort goes wide.
Just before half time, Lloyd Marshall the home keeper was under pressure to clear the ball. The ball fell to Brandon Oputeri from the visitors, he tried to chip the ball bur Marshall collected the ball with ease.
The second half was only five minutes old when Cloke breaks clear of the visiting defence and had a one on one with the visiting keeper, who puts the ball wide.
Just past the hour mark, the hosts go in front when a corner ball finds Cloke at the far post unmarked to fire his header home from six yards. Then a minute later, a ball in by Cloke finds Mullis who’s volley from a angle was tipped over the bar by the visiting keeper. With seven minutes remaining, a great cross in by Theo Ramsey finds Callum McGhee, his effort goes wide.
In the sixth minute of stoppage time, the hosts double their lead when Theo Ramsey fires an angle shot from the edge of the area to complete the scoring.
