Around 130 turned out for a fixture that promised plenty but never quite delivered.

A scrappy disjointed affair that Liskeard had the better of but never really capitalised upon.

Plentiful chances were crafted by the home side but time and time again they failed to put the ball in the net.

When Liskeard finally got the ball in the net, Mr Gilbert's bench and the home supporters let out a huge sigh of relief.

Wadebridge tried to mount some kind of a late charge but it never gained the necessary momentum. A couple of near misses but little else.

A lot of punters had these two sides as Top 4 bankers. That maybe a rash prediction on the quality of football provided this evening.

Early days, perhaps there's more to come. I'm sure the run out will have provided worthwhile information for both clubs tactical analysis programmes.

An encoraging start for the blue men with 3 points on the board against a Wadebridge side who were surprisingly poor. Great to see Lorenz back in a Liskeard shirt, looked frustrated to come off which I'm seeing as a good sign. Think the blues will be ok, wouldn't be surprised to see a few more come in maybe even from the league above.
