Ian Pethick
Bashley v Falmouth is off. Pitch has failed a referees pitch inspection, whatever that means in August. mattelot

It's a weird one isn't it! Is it a ground grading issue or perhaps something they can't do to the pitch due to machinery breakdown or even some New Forest ponies that have declared grazing rights on the ground? Whichever, it's very disappointing just two days before the opening day and can't really see why the game couldn't have been switched!
Quiet Man
Apparently, Bashley had new drainage installed under the pitch and for whatever reason, the surface has had some sort of problem and has been deemed after inspection by a referee to be not fit for a game to take place on it. Unfortunately, no information has been made available via their social media. Hopefully, a midweek trip to Bashley will not be necessary as it would certainly put Falmouth Town at a disadvantage. Which might very well be what caused/uncovered the problem. A ref has been and inspected and if they weren't the match day ref any decision is in consultation with them, then it's not playable. I'm sure the club will be disappointed by having to miss the 1st game and reschedule. If/why a reversal wasn't considered I don't know as that might have been a sensible solution but its not just as simple as okay we'll play at you then... To open the gates Falmouth have to have a certain number of people (volunteers) available, most of whom will have made plans that don't involve Falmouth Town.l already. They have to do this to ensure the safety of everyone attending the game and ensure facilities are provided and staffed. It's not just a simple case of ok we will come to you as perhaps it might be in the lower echelons of St Piran. Also best in mind Badhley would have to arrange a coach etc which might not be available. We're not just talking pop down the A30/A390. Or possibly it was just that someone in the chain of involvement wasn’t so keen! 🤔

Bobby Thomas
Good start for the two Cornish sides, playing today. A happy trip home, for Helston's players and supporters, from Wiltshire!
Pondy
Had a chat with a Bash fan today at Trungle (he was on his hols), Bashley had a new pitch laid and a large split appeared in middle of the pitch a few days ago. He also said Larkhall have a similar problem. Not ideal at all
Tavi Fan
‘‘Twas unfortunately Tavistock 0-1 Yate Town I think Yate will certainly be challenging for the title this season. Not a huge deal in the game. Neither keeper had too much to do in the first 89 minutes until Aaron Dearing made a good save after we were caught on the counter after pushing for an equalizer. Felt we could have had a penalty in both halves but wasn’t to be. Falmouth away on Tuesday for us.
