Cornwall Combination League Cup Final @ St Day

Recommended Posts

This Sunday sees the Cornwall Combination League Cup Final - PERRANPORTH v PERRANWELL to be played at St Day AFC.

Just been up to take a look at the pitch and it is looking fantastic, considering the amount of rain they have worked hard on it, so lets try and get as many people as we can to watch the match.

St Day have done well to host the Final only having been in the Combo League for the last two years.

They assigned a respected manager who brought in players to get them promoted into Senior football, they have a hard working committee and this is their day where they can show the rest of the league that they can host a Final.

Hope its a sunny day and to see you all there!

Thank you Richard for your comments!!

I do have one question, why oh why have the league fixtured a game for st day at HOME this saturday when they know full well that there is a cup final on it the day after. St Day have two pitches but only one is of the required standard to host a combination match. This just about sums up the league, why have they no common sense!!

Beffore people comment, i am aware that this fixture is not decided until later in the season but they have know about the cup final being held at st day for a good 6 weeks, surley it is not beyond the leagues remit to adjust a fixture so that it doesn't jeopardise the cup final pitch. You only have to look at last years cup final which i beleive was postponed due to the fact that they fixtured a game on it the day before.

Any comments???

Guest WINNO

Wish St Day all the best tomorrow great little club with massive potential and drive to move on in future seasons. Having played on the pitch last Saturday I still don't think its ready for big final yet . Prob should have had a semi final and gone on from there. But fair play to their commitee and I wish them all the best for Easter Sunday and for the future of the club.......

Got mates in both camps especially Sam B.

But deep down I want Pwell to take it

Guest The Judge aka RED OR DEAD

Went to St Day with the Newquay Loyal for a Combo match this season (1st team not playing), nice little set up. Apart from clubs who have reserve sides in the Combo, who have better facilities ? Most grounds are pretty much the same, clubhouse, pitch and no cover. At least St Day have a balcony and some parking, although not a great deal.

Nice to see the little guys have a final, fair play to the Combo league !

Oh and Perranwell to win !

Best of luck to Perranporth.

Would be nice to see some silverware at the club since the promotion from junior football.

I think Gossie, Rusty and the players will do it. Plus they will want to right the wrong after the league defeat!

Perranporth win 3-1

Do you want the 1st scorer to?

:D
